Feeling a bit sore over Mighty No. 9’s last-minute delay? Wishing there was something Comcept would do to make you feel better? Have they got an answer for you! You’ll be getting a... demo! A little bit before everyone else does, too! Yay?

In an update to Mighty No. 9’s Kickstarter page, the developers shared an apology, stating they, “don’t want [their] backers to be completely empty-handed.” The result? A four-level trial version, up one from three included in the previous beta. It’ll include complete versions of stages 1, 3 and 5 along with the opening stage.

Also included in Comcept’s mea culpa is a free Steam copy of Mighty Gunvolt, a game they already gave away for free to backers on 3DS earlier in the campaign.

The Mighty No. 9 trial version releases September 15, the original release date for the finished title. Backers should receive an email with a code for the trial sometime before that date.
