***DOUBLY UPDATED VERSION*** Kind of had to re-plan things, everyone. More info can be found added to the bottom. Walfisch has something in store for those of you without prior commitments.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is just about to launch later this month. The game has seemed to attract a decent amount of attention here, especially with its ability to allow PC users and PS3 users to play together on the same servers. So let me just ask those of you who are going to be picking this up: Do you have any plans yet for where you're going to be playing?
I was thinking about trying to get a linkshell or free company (basically, a guild) together for everyone here at TAY, but wasn’t sure if we had enough interest in making one or if people already had plans for the game.
I’ve talked to a few people already about where they want to be located for whenever the live version launches, but I haven’t actually made a dedicated thread for it to hear everyone’s plans. And … well, since the Open Beta (which, as of the last time I checked, carries over to the early access and Live versions of the game) is coming out soon, I thought now would be the perfect time to check and see.
So everyone, what are your plans for this game, server wise? Have you even made any yet? Are you planning on sticking to a Legacy server, or do you want to remake your character from the start? Let me and everyone else know, I’m sure we can figure something out to get everyone to play together.
Even if you’ve told me your plans in the past, would you mind reposting them here just for the sake of convenience and organization? Thanks a million.
So far, it looks like there are a few servers that would be interesting in going to for those of us that aren’t interested in Legacy servers, but it totally depends on what everyone wants to do. We can scope out more casual-oriented servers or go for more hardcore servers, whichever you all want.
If you are interested in Legacy servers, there are quite a few options there, as well, but so far it looks like a lot of them are going to be skewed towards hardcore PvE.
Oh, and also, I wouldn’t mind knowing what you all were interested in playing in terms of jobs when you get there, just for curiousity’s sake.
Basically, just give everyone an idea of:
- Possible plans you have, server-wise or friend-wise
- What kind of server you’d be looking for (hardcore PvE, casual, RP, etc.)
- If you're going to be using a Legacy character or playing on a Legacy server
- If you already have a server selected
- Jobs you’re wanting to main, including your crafting profession.
Thanks everyone. If you want me to make this TAY-guild a thing, I’ll take a look at what servers seem to fit the desired community and see where we can go from there. Otherwise, maybe we can just use this to know where everyone plans on going.
Hey everyone. So, after checking on this periodically, it doesn't look like we have the people required for a decent-sized guild or anything that would work out long-term. As a result, I don't want to put any pressure on anyone by giving them more obligations that they may already have for the game.
As for my plans, I'm going to be going to the Balmung server. It's a pretty mixed server, but there's some hardcore PvE stuff and RP events going over there that my friends seem pretty interested in, so I'm going to join them.
Walfisch is making plans for those of you without commitments for a purely social Linkshell here because he's awesome: Link.
I'm not saying you need to follow me or anything, but if you're still not decided on a server, I would test this group out during the open beta just to see if you like it. The people who have decided on it as their home so far seem like pretty nice folks. And hey, if you go there, maybe we can run a dungeon or two. If we get a few people I totally wouldn't mind starting up a Linkshell for chatting purposes.
Take care everyone! Those of you interested, don't forget to download the Open Beta client tomorrow.
