For tonight’s topic: Emergencies!

So Saturday night after going salsa dancing, I get a call from my mother right as I leave the venue just after midnight and on my way to the car. Apparently my niece had some bad inflammation around her scar and head and was taken to the ER. She’s four months old and has spina bifida so she’s already had some surgeries and a shunt so any little thing is cause for worry. So I run home, pick up my mom, and go to the ER a tad overdressed and stay there till about five in the morning waiting for the ambulance from the specialist hospital to show up.

Luckily, her mom was super chill and once I got there I realized most everyone except her were way freaked out. She handled the situation as if she had a runny nose and not some big bad infection. It’s her first child and you think she has done this dozens of times. Mad respect for her. Mad. Respect.

Niece is doing better and I get to go pick them up Sunday. For a girl that averages a surgery a month she is one hell of a happy, strong trooper. Guess she takes after her mom?

So, you guys ever had some emergencies? And how did you deal with them? Wardrobe malfunctions? Car catch on fire as soon as you park it? Forget a Significant Other’s Birthday?

Or if that is a bit too serious, FAVORITE ICE CREAM CAUSE IT’S STARTING TO FEEL LIKE NOT CHRISTMAS OUT THERE.

Either way, Talk Amongst Yourselves!
