I told myself that I wasn’t going to jump on the “bash Mass Effect Andromeda’s animations” bandwagon. In my impressions piece I even said that it wasn’t a bad game. But after watching this eleven minute vidoc from developer Warhorse Studios about the cutscenes and voiceover in their upcoming Kickstarter-funded project Kingdom Come: Deliverance, I just couldn’t stop myself. The fact that a game not even backed by one of the major publishers(Note: The physical release of the game is being published by Deep Silver, but all digital copies are being self-published by Warhorse.) has seemingly better animations than a major AAA release is just sad. The game has 4 hours worth of cutscenes and around 40 hours of recorded dialogue spread out over 54+ actors from the US, Great Britain, and the Czech Republic. See it for yourself:

Say what you will about lead developer Daniel Vavra, or maybe you just aren’t interested in a game like this, but you have to admit that the amount of effort that the developers are putting into this game is astounding and the quality of the work itself can clearly be seen in the above video and many others. There’s still no release date for the game, but it went into the optimization phase back in January, so it’s safe to assume that the developers are targeting a late 2017/early 2018 release for the game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
