Disclaimer: I released this last year, but failed to really promote it much (too many other things going on). It's by no means, OC Remix-level (in fact all of my submissions to OC remix have always been rejected), but for a self-taught musician, I think it came out much better than I imagined. I think my submissions get rejected because I "base them" off existing midi sequences. Though I do edit them, and rearrange things as needed. I also do all of the production and mastering work on my own.
There are two types of people in this world. Those who love Chrono Trigger, and those who have yet to experience it. Few games have made such a tremendous impact in the medium of Video Games. It was a title that broke new ground in the RPG genre. With a strong, epic multi-layered story (that more often than not would turn tropes and genre conventions on their head), unique gameplay mechanics, fourteen different endings, and hours upon hours of content just waiting for the player to discover.
It's easy to see why the adventures of Chrono and friends are so wildly popular amongst gamers of all ages and tastes.
But lets not forget one of the most impressive aspects of Chrono Trigger... its huge three-disc soundtrack. Composed by three core maestros at Squaresoft in 1995, the Original Sound Version of the Chrono Trigger soundtrack is a sweeping epic that evokes a wide range of emotions. From the open, driving, valiant theme of Squire Glenn (aka. Frog), to the brooding, claustrophobic Ocean Palace, the Chrono Trigger soundtrack hits all of the notes.
For this release I approached each age with its own sonic palette. Most of the 1000, and 600 AD pieces were approached in a very traditional symphonic/orchestrated style. While the tracks for 2300 AD feature retro-electronic elements mixed into more traditional instrumentation to capture that ages decayed, technological atmosphere. Likewise the pieces in the 65,000,000 BC age all feature a heavy emphasis on percussion, and tribal beats. Where the music of the Kingdom of Zeal in 12,000 BC are done in a more ethereal, dreamlike style to represent that age's reliance on magic and mysticism
This album took six months to complete, from planning to final mastering. It feature fifty tracks pulled from the Original Sound Version of the soundtrack. This is my gift to all of my fellow Chrono Trigger fans. To those of you who have yet to experience the joys of time travel, hopefully this will inspire you to give Chrono Trigger a chance. You won't regret it.

Note: These tracks were originally written and composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, and Nobuo Uematsu, and were all arranged from various midi compositions found online. I take no credit for their compositions, only for the treatment of the instruments and arrangements.
The purpose of this collection is to create versions of these songs as close to the originals as possible, however with more professional sound quality than was available in the 90's on the SNES.
This project is different than other CT tributes, such as the OC Remix album, as I specifically wanted to recapture the songs in their entirety, not create new songs out of parts of the soundtrack.
