Next week is Thanksgiving. For some of you, it may be the worst Thanksgiving you’ll have to suffer through in some while. For others, it’ll be a welcome reprieve. Mine should be fine. I’ll be surrounded by 14 people I love.
Every year my sister and I make plans to alter the menu. Every year my mother asks if we need her to cook the special rice (we’re always confused why she would ask such a ridiculous question). Every year we do these things knowing full well we can’t change a thing, or else attendees will throw hissy fits.
Our menu remains traditional. We’ll be having turkey, stuffing, roasted beef, some kind of potatoes, sweet potato souffle, cranberry jelly, and rice.
In past years, we’ve gone to the movies after dinner. In others, we’ve watched my friend get booed off the stage singing Kenny Rogers.
While I could have waited until next Wednesday to ask you about your Thanksgiving plans, I’ll probably be too busy baking pies to win the next TAY House challenge. So this Wednesday, I’ll ask all my sneaky questions about your business instead. Hope you don’t mind.
I’m absolutely trying to get your family recipe secrets out of you, even though I claim I won’t change my menu. It was all a clever ruse.
For today’s suggested topic(s):
- What’s on the menu for Thanksgiving?
- Are you looking forward to Thanksgiving this year?
- What are your usual plans for this holiday. And if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, what are some holiday traditions that you love?
- Please share your best and worst holiday stories.
- Which of these birds is the best: duck, turkey, chicken or chocobo. Asking for science purposes.
As always, feel free to Talk Amongst Yourselves if ain’t nobody got time for menu planning! Don’t forget that the Discord Chatroom is always around too for continuing, real-time conversations. If you wanted to give an admin, author, and/or friend a shout to tell them you love them and appreciate their internet availability: You can find them on the DirecTAYry.
