Oh boy, here we go. Hello TAY! How are you all doing? If you’re a regular here you probably noticed I’m not the usual Thursday person, so let me take a little while to introduce myself to those that don’t know me. Name’s Nior: Brazilian, pizza lover, community mod over the Discord channel (whatever that means) and not afraid of space aliens. Tough I mostly lurk around Kinja, that is about to change now that I’ll be hosting the Thursday’s Open Forum every two weeks. Nice to meet you all.

So, I’ve been playing a lot of Persona 5 (The header is kinda sorta totally inspired by the game’s text boxes) and yes I’m late to that party I know but still, that game just oozes with style and personality and I’m loving every second of it. I’ve been especially in love with the soundtrack and how the combat has this crazy momentum to it that just feels so good. Don’t ask me to choose a waifu yet, cause I’m barely 20 hours in. But I can tell you that Ryuji is a Yosuke better than the actual Yosuke (sorry P4 fans, it’s the truth).

NOW! The reason you’re all here for! So I figured since this is my first time doing this, what I want to hear from you all is first time stories. It could be about anything, not necessarily limited to video games. Maybe:

  • Your first kiss (Mine was messy and I don’t wanna talk about it)
  • Your first love (I got dumped. Because real life sucks)
  • The first time you visited some distant place (I’ll never forget the first time I went to a beach. Partially because of the salt water...)
  • First broken bone (I never actually broke anything. I’m boring like that)
  • Your first experience with your favorite genre (Mine was the OG Diablo)
  • Something you wish you could forget to experience for the first time again

As for that last one let me tell you this story: It happened four or five years ago. I had borrowed a DS from a friend to play some games and amongst them was 999, a Visual Novel/Escape the Room. The plot was fantastic and I just couldn’t put the damn thing down. I would take the DS with me to all places, including the classroom. One day I was taking a basic mechanics class (required to take a driver’s license) and after finishing the test I pulled the DS out and loaded my save. I was very close to the end when I hit the last puzzle and the game’s biggest twist was revealed (If you played, you know what I’m talking about). I let out a very audible “Holy sh*t” right there. Of course, everyone heard it.

I tried my best to not look like it was me, but there were only five people there that day. Since I could not for the love of me think of an excuse, I simply apologized for it and lowered my head in shame to finish the last puzzle and see the conclusion unfold. Would I do it all over again? You bet I would!
