That’s Not News Blip: Nintendo either is blind to what it’s fans want from a Paper Mario game, or they are willfully ignoring it. Whichever it is, I can’t imagine fans being happy. Color Splash’s producer, Risa Tabata, says to USGamer:
The old Paper Mario games, they were obviously RPGs and had a lot of good elements, but they weren’t just about the RPG elements. They were full of solving puzzles, solving mysteries, the color factor, the visual style. For the Paper Mario series, we’re focusing more on those elements — the puzzle-solving.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Nintendo is mis-remembering what made the originals in the series great. Is this where you wanted the Paper Mario series to go? It reinforces the idea that Mario & Luigi series is getting the RPG focus while the Paper Mario series is getting... creative?
