Okay, let's try this again! After watching the presentations for the Big 3 this year, I'm actually beginning to think that this is one of the better E3's we've had in recent years. To be fair, I wasn't here for the majority of it, but I at least got to see Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. While I think you all know from the header image who I thought won, I walked away feeling more informed about where each company thought the future of its console would be. Nintendo focused on first party exclusives, Sony wanted to incorporate and broaden its reach to other devices, and Microsoft wanted to return to being simply about games after they seemed to spread themselves too thin last year.
Regardless, across the board, the main thing that we talked about this year was games! Lots and lots and lots of games were announced or given release dates in the past couple of days. And best of all, this year was the first year for a while that I feel like I was given a better sense of what to look forward to in gaming and what I can easily brush aside—which, when you think about it, is what E3 should be all about anyways.
In terms of highlights, the biggest (not best) news this year for me was the announcement of Splatoon and getting some more information about Assassin's Creed: Unity. You all probably know how I feel about the latter. As for Splatoon, I'm... honestly incredibly excited. It's such an adorable and beautiful game coupled with a pretty simple but cool idea and I really can't wait to get my hands on it.
That's what we're going to talk about tonight, TAY: hype or lack thereof. Anything you're excited for now after E3? Anything you're not excited for now that new information came out? Let us know down below.
