Hey everyone, welcome to the Graveyard Shift for Thursday.

So, umm, I was definitely planning on having someone else host this tonight, but that turned out to not happen. As a result, you all get me for one more Thursday! I'm totally taking next week off, though, and you'll get your guest host, promise.

This is going up in a bit of a rush, so I'm not even going to bother looking to see if the topic has been covered yet. Let's just talk about our first video game consoles. Nobody could have possibly done that before, right? Right? Well, if they did, just talk about your earliest/favorite gaming memory from your childhood.

My mother was a huge gamer before I was even born, so when I finally did enter this fabulous place called Earth, I had an NES and SNES ready to play with right out of the gate. I had to share it with the rest of the family, though.

Probably my favorite story to tell people was when I got to try Castlevania for the first time on NES. It was a pretty fun game, and I enjoyed the few seconds I got to play of it. That was, until I saw that you fought skeletons. If you didn't read it, I did a Graveyard Shift a long time ago that talked about me being a huge coward when I was a child, and had some pretty bad nightmares that made me hate anything ghostly or undead for the longest time.

Anyway, I reluctantly killed a few skeletons, but I definitely remember being scared. Finally, something popped out, and I don't remember what it was, but I threw the controller on the ground, ran out of the room as fast as I could, and refused to come back until someone turned the console off for me. I mentioned I was a huge coward, right?

On that note, yeah, first gaming console/favorite childhood gaming story time, go!

Fear not! If this topic was too hastily put together for your tastes, feel free to use this to talk about your day, share some interesting news, or whatever else you desire! The Thursday Graveyard Shift is now open!
