Good evening and welcome to Word of the Day! A journey through the English vocabulary and the words that piqued my interest, in WotD we'll be learning a new word for each working day of the week, bar holidays, unless there's a holiday special...
Today's word is:
Showing a lack of courage or determination; timid.
ORIGIN: late Middle English : from ecclesiastical Latin pusillanimis (translating Greek olugopsukhos), from pusillus 'very small' + animus 'mind,' + -ous .
What a beautiful insult, to call someone pusillanimous is humiliating, not only it's an unconventional word, it's simply clever... and that's what the president of Venezuela just called the Opposing party in order to taunt them into committing a mistake, and to be fair, the insult suits both parties, after two months of nonstop protests nothing has happened. The Officialism party works their way around wasting money to hide the truth, on the other hand the opposition has no apparent plan in motion, they're just "going with the flow" of the situation, after all they're just a large mass of civilians taking the streets in "peaceful" protests.
