TAY Game Challenge 6: The Great TAY Game Music Playlist

Greetings and salutations TAY and welcome to another TAY Game Challenge! Presented by myself, for TAY, and sponsored by all those old mix tapes that you threw away (but don’t worry, my heart will go oooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooon.)

What is TAY Game Challenge you ask? Simple: I choose a game, set a challenge, and then we all compete for A BRAND NEW CAAAAAR internet bragging rights.

Last challenge was to venture out in the world and take some selfies. I got to thank The Almighty Duke and his weird time zone for venturing out into the wild and showcasing an arcade game that is a driving and shooting game that I had never seen before. Amazing the quirkiness of those old machines eh?

This week there’s no score or pictures involved, but rather music. I’m going to see about creating the Great TAY Game Music Playlist, a playlist of video game songs that is created by the community. But seeing as this is a challenge, there are some rules to abide by TAYter tots.

Challenge: Great TAY Game Music Playlist

  • ONE NOMINATION PER PERSON. That’s all you get TAY. One and only one. If you post multiple entries then your first recommendation is what’s going in.
  • Song must be from a video game, not inspired by a game or series. Sorry peeps, no Mario Kart Love Song. Maybe next time.
  • No licensed tracks. Yeah Fallout boy was in Madden 20XX NO IT DOESN’T COUNT. This means no DDR, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, LUMINES, etc.
  • Include a link to the song so we can listen to it. Youtube, Vimeo, soundcloud, etc.
  • Include a description as to WHY the song should be included. Is it a seminal piece of music, is it really well known, hidden gem? That way when I create the actual playlist post future generations of TAYers can know why it was included.
  • Songs do not have to be the original arrangement or track. So that way arrangements from Video Games Live or Distant Worlds: Final Fantasy are valid entries.
  • EDIT: Include the game the song is from, the song title, and the reason the song should be included.

And that’s it for now TAY. I may change the rules as necessary and I’m still debating if I’m going to do a voting round or a song limit. For now, let’s just assume that if it’s posted it’s gonna be a part of the playlist.

You got one week TAY, nominations end May June 6th at 11:59 PM EST.
