An idea for the future

Wow, there's a lot of potential in this new Kinja system. Is the editorial board considering creating more threads open to commenter submission than just TAY? I recognize that right now you guys are busy building an entire website so obviously none of this is top priority stuff, but wouldn't it be cool if there were public Kotaku forums dedicated to smaller audiences? User reviews. Foreign games (different for each region if possible). Maybe a "random video game related things from the internet" page which could essentially be an equivalent to the ever bellicose r/games. Retro games. I've a hunch that if you guys created those dedicated spaces, folks would fill them. Especially since everyone has that slick tool to post in multiple places simultaneously. Staff writers could even cruise the user content and pick anything particularly noteworthy to be promoted to the main feed - which could essentially fill the void left by "top comment of the week" in that it would encourage people to find and write quality content.

At the very least, are you guys going to make your own sub-feed for Kotaku Core? Maybe Kotaku East? Even if you don't want to make a ton of separate zones open to the public (because then that would all need to be moderated somehow so I recognize that's a lot of extra work) you could still use this new system to simplify the divisions of Kotaku content that already exist.

Those are my thoughts from day 2 of the beta, am I way off base? I don't feel like I'm way off base.
