I finished Pokemon Sun earlier today, meaning I’ve finally completed a game this year. It’s probably the first game I’ve finished since early last year. It’s nice to have checked something off the list.
Since last week’s check-in, I wrapped up the final two islands of the Alola Region, defeated the villain, wrecked the Elite Four, narrowly won the last battle with the professor, and became the champion. The endgame stuff was actually pretty interesting for a Pokemon game. I appreciated the cutscenes at the end as opposed to just cutting to the credits like in past games. I was totally not expecting to be thrown into a legendary battle after becoming champion though. I was glad I had a fuckton of Pokeballs that I’d collected throughout the game because I was otherwise unprepared.
Overall, I quite liked the game and I’m not sure why I stopped playing for like a year. It was a nice change of pace from older games in the series. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next generation holds, and I hope the series evolves faster than it has historically.
I’m going to continue to mess around with the postgame stuff for a while, as there’s still quite a bit to do, but I need to start thinking about what game I’m going to play next. I have a few games that I’m a good ways into, and I want too finish some of them before I start digging into the games I haven’t even started. What do you guys think I should play next?
