Welcome to Craf-TAY Corner, the monthly feature that showcases the creative side of Talk Amongst Yourselves. If you do anything arty or crafty, this is the place to show it off and talk about your upcoming and ongoing projects.
Yay! This is the first new Craf-TAY Corner of 2015 and I'm already off to a flying start. For the Secret Santa I got TAY personality Swansie and because of her wide ranging video game tastes I decided to make her a few custom ornaments out of craft foam. Craft foam is a surprisingly difficult medium to work with. It dulls blades very quickly (I went through three exact-o blades just for these three ornaments), gets mooshed when you try to cut it with scissors and gets a really messed up edge if you try to trim it too exactly. In the end though I finally got everything to look like it wasn't chewed out by a particularly talented hamster. Glad you enjoyed your present Swansie!
Also huge news on another front: Bayonetta is done! This doll was three years in the making and the major feature for most of the Craf-TAY Corners from the last year. She is finally totally complete from her hair to her glasses to her pistols Scarborough Fair. I made a separate article for her, so if you want some more background on the project, you can see all the work that turned a mundane, run-of-the-mill Barbie into pistol-heel wearing hair witch. Now it's time to move onto some of the other projects that have been cluttering my work table for at least a year or two...
Speaking of projects, another big announcement for 2015: disgusting over achiever and stunningly dapper art guy Stormborn is coming back with Draw a Pokemon a Day! One of Bonny John's most popular series, he returns to draw the second generation from the original Pokemon Gold and Silver games. I personally can't wait to see his interpretation of my favorite Pokemon of all time, the particularly cute and fuzzy German Shepherd/Doberman based critter Houndour. No pressure, of course.
You guys were particularly busy little bees during December talking about all sorts of projects you guys have done: Division-Ten Showed off more of her photos from New York Comic Con and her awesome Rocket Cosplay as well as doing Arty Tuesday. And Stormborn never fails to impress with his ORAS Speedpaint
As always, if you have a project that I haven't mentioned, talk about it in the comments, whether you just finished or are just getting started. And of course, if you would like to be featured for February's Craf-TAY Corner, just tag your articles 'Craf-TAY Corner' so I can actually find them. If you have any questions or comments just leave a comment below or contact me directly via my Con-TAYct Page.
