Defining A Gamer is a simple column where I'll be making simple observations about our culture as Gamers, and what defines us. Yeah, yeah, I know "What a load of trivial nonsense, TUT, why waste our time with something like this?"

*Pictured: You guys*

But hey, hear me out, okay? Part of what motivated me to start this up was hearing the common Casual vs Hardcore Gamer argument you see everywhere, since it's really clear that none of us have an "Official Resident Gamer" license, yet the distinction is always made between those "worthy" of our respect within our community and those who utter complete bullshit.

Now, this is honestly something I consider often when posting on here, due to my unfamiliarity with core objects that seem to define us as a community. I'll confess right here and now that I honestly don't play MMOs, or participate in online multiplayer often, nor have I played several "Must Play" classics. Yet, I'm indistinguishable from the common gamer . . . . . . I mean, it's not like we have a visible label that states our affiliations, right?

And no, I haven't played this series at all. I've tried, but c'mon, 30 something games? I can barely finish a 24 episode anime in a month, ok?

In any case, the goal of this column is just to explore and possibly help* define us as a community. I mean, we're all here together reading my nonsense, that has to count for something, right? So why don't y'all head down into the comments and provide me with some much needed feedback on this column. Thank you, I appreciate it, but I can't accept any more suggestions on what to try out next ( I already have a large backlog, thank you very much :P), and would like for you guys to not discuss gaming identity on this post, because that way you can save it for the next one! :D Speaking of which, the topic for my next post is Gaming Marathons, so stay tuned!

*I'm nobody special, so no need to take my ranting at heart ^^ And yes, I knew you knew that, I just wanted to include an asterisk :P
