I'm really feeling it!

Eclectic Elekid! Pokemon One a Day, Series 2!

Day 88

Electric Pokemon

MINIONS!!! I love them, and you should too. I also LOVE Elekid, so I fused those two together for today’s illustration. Today, I “photobashed” several shots of various Minions to create the artwork to keep the style of the adorable misfits!

I was originally planning to draw up Elekid in the style of multiple electronic elements like batteries and appliances. It would have been abstract and I almost went through with it until I began to make the visual connections between the Pokemon and minions...Then, it was too good to pass up.

With the minion, I had to change up very few parts of the body and clothes to get to where I liked it, so it was easier than expected to photobash. Still, this style of mashing up assets is new to me so it was a learning process that had its own difficulty. Many of the piece was drawn in and blended where I couldn’t get it seamless. Places included gloves, the shape of the pants, ends of the goggle, and wrinkles in the fabric.

Other manipulations included more buff forearms, the shoes, the bands for the body and arm, and spruced up the pouch with a Rocket logo in lieu of Gru’s. To push Elekid’s persona, I gave some furrowed eyelids and translated the “real” teeth with Elekid’s two individual canines.

So yeah! That’s it for today. Was straight forward but a new experience so posed its difficulty in that regard. Hope you like the work and thank you for your audience...ship.

Love and peace,

Question of the Day: Which of the “manmade” Pokemon are your favorite? I mention them because Elekid has...a plug on his brainz.

Exploring the creatures of Gold and Silver, Pokemon One a Day Series 2 can be seen as both a standalone project and expansion to the original marathon of artwork that sought to present one unique new illustration per day. This project builds upon the exploration of personal technical and philosophical concepts and visual styles under daily deadline to create quality works for personal and professional growth.
