Hulk rumors, G.I. Joe 3, Horrible Bosses 2, and a poster party on today's EnterTAYnment!
To start, actors Lou Ferrigno (of TV Hulk fame) and Mark Ruffalo have both stated that Marvel is working on a standalone Hulk film to be released during Phase 3 (after Avengers 2: Age of Ultron). When asked specifically about the standalone being an adaptation of Planet Hulk, Ruffalo firmly denied it, stating that it wasn't the way to go for the character. So what exactly is the next movie going to be about?
Spoiler alert for Avengers 2 and speculation for the future of the Marvel cinematic universe follows. If you don't want to see this, please scroll down to the picture of the panda. Then you are safe. Thank you for flying Air Canada.
According to rumors by entertainment news site HitFix, the Hulk will unfortunately be blasted away into space at the end of Avengers 2 by either Ultron or the Avengers themselves, forcing the big green giant to find a way back home from space. How would one go about doing this? If only there was a Marvel team of space-faring adventurers who had a movie coming out... That's right, the GotG will be helping Hulk return back home, but may unfortunately bring along an extremely big bad (i.e. Thanos) with them, setting the stage for Avengers 3. Of course, this is all just rumors and speculation, but it does seem to be the best possible way to tie the whole universe together.
Spoilers averted. We're good to go, Captain.
Paramount has added writer Jonathan Lemkin onto G.I. Joe 3, which is currently set for a 2016 release date. Lemkin has written the Mark Wahlberg-starring Shooter, Lethal Weapon 4, Red Planet, and the Keanu Reeves/Al Pacino film The Devil's Advocate. No plot has been announced for G.I. Joe 3, though its reported Dwayne Johnson's Roadblock and other characters from Retaliation will be returning.
