Hey folks! It’s been a while since I last frequented the TAY forums. First of all, I’d like to sincerely apologize for the hiatus: I just had a lot of things to do over the past weeks and I needed to get them done ASAP, so I was unable to converse with you as much as I would have personally liked.

But fear not, for I have come back from the dead (not really)! Better still, I’m bringing with me some rather interesting news.

It will come as no surprise to most of you that I enjoy publishing game design articles on TAY. From my breakthrough anime FPS article to my analysis on DOOM, I wrote about a plethora of game development/gaming topics that have enabled me to foster my writing chops and share my knowledge with y’all.

But recently I felt the urge to do something more creative and personal. What I mean by that is that I want to expand my writing endeavors by penning more non-fictional content related to gaming, things like dialog, quotes, scripts, etc...

This does not mean that I’ll be abandoning my longstanding practice of writing about game design (that’s still my bread and butter), but I really want to test the creative waters and see if I’m just as good with breadth as I am with depth.

Over the past weeks, I dabbled a bit in screenwriting and dialog writing. So far I managed to get two complete script drafts and one sample of JRPG-style quotes (inspired by my recent playthrough of Fire Emblem Fates). I’ll include the links to them below for your convenience and reading pleasure:

What I would really appreciate from you folks is your honest feedback/constructive criticism. As someone who aspires to be a game designer/writer, I really want to make sure that I’m properly honing my skills and talent by knowing the true quality of my work. Feel free to comment on this post and I’ll be sure to read your thoughts on my work and even reply to you!

Thank you sincerely for taking the time to read this article, and I look forward to talking to you soon!
