LEGO of me, I'm the god-damned brick Batman!
By now, Travellers Tales must be really good at making LEGO video games. The formula remains unchanged all the way back to 2005 when the very first LEGO Star Wars video game arrived and blew everyone's minds.
Enter the man with the bat, third time lucky perhaps? Whenever a new super hero LEGO video game arrives, I always have to stack them against the very best of them all, the surprisingly awesome LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. LEGO games can be made or broken on they way the use humour mixed the source material and Batman in the past has done rather well. So... third time lucky?
Holy way too much footage, Batman! I sort of got carried away and didn't really noticed the time, so I ended up with over an hour of gameplay footage. I won't deny it, I was having fun, as I usually do with LEGO games in general. Even so, I didn't make it to outer space, the main attraction of this new entry. It's time to call in the JUDGE:
This is a good game, no doubt there. But you must only consider buying it if you're a fan of both LEGO and Batman, and even then you must consider if you want yet another LEGO game to complete. If you choose to do so, know that the humour remains top notch, the voice acting is great, there are more characters to unlock then ever in any previous LEGO game (over 150, plus LEGO Alfred is awesome!) and an absolute zany plot that will make you smile quite often. If you got kids around to play with you, then consider it a "Buy It!" Judgement instead. And do save TV's Adam West.
On a side note, I find it very sad this will be the only WB game out on Wii U this holiday season. I would buy Shadows of Mordor for the Wii U if it was on the shelves.
See you soon, TAYlanders! Play Hard, Play LOUD! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
