Fresh out of his 34th birthday, Pac-Man finally arrived in the mail today. I admit I am jumping into this one at a disadvantage: I am not familiar with the recent TV show on which this game is based on. But I was quite fond of the "Pac-Man World" video games for GameCube so I decided to give this a try.
In a strange coincidence, today Namco has announced that this games sequel will be out in October. Two games in the same year!? Hmmm... let's pop this in the disc tray and give it a try.
Well, that was a pleasant surprise! "Pac-Man And The Ghostly Adventures" plays very well, it's colourful, it's fun and quite a solid effort. It certainly delivers a wacky and welcome "time out" from my ongoing "Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze" odyssey. Plus since this is multi-platform, it's a great option for people who don't own "Super Mario 3D World", even more so if you have young children around (and maybe even fans of the TV show?). So, does Namco deserve you money?
A solid 3D platformer, well executed and with great production values that will surely bring a smile to young ones and even managed to make this not-so-young-anymore TAYlander smile a couple of times on those first 15 minutes.
Looks like Pac is back and in great shape! (☞ﾟ∀ﾟ)☞ Waka, waka!
