You might not have noticed amidst the snow and crappy weather, but spring is coming up pretty quickly! Spring starts on March 20th, and to top it off, those of us who observe Daylight Savings Time actually lose an hour of sleep this Sunday. It's not all bad, though—spring should bring warmer weather, some pretty plants, and the best thing about the spring of all: spring cleaning!
I know what you're thinking: Neryl, everyone hates spring cleaning. While that's mostly true, everyone does love finding things they had totally forgotten about while they're cleaning, right?
About two years ago, while I was going through some of the old junk that I had written during High School, I actually managed to find something fantastic. It was this really nice pencil that I used to write all the time with—a Pentel S55 Classic Deluxe Mechanical Pencil (yes, I memorized this after finding it again). It was not only the most comfortable pencil I ever used, but it was filled to the brim with sentimental value.
It was the first pencil I did a handwritten essay with, and the first pencil I ever even attempted to participate in National Novel Writing Month with. I pretty much had the thing since I was in the 5th grade all the way up until 9th or 10th grade, I can't remember which. Still... I'm incredibly happy I found it, and I've been using it ever since.
What about you, TAY? Do you have any interesting stories to tell about cleaning? Any cool objects you thought you had lost but finally found? Let us know!
Do you never clean or lose things? Well then, feel free to talk about life, love, gaming, or whatever else you desire. The Thursday Graveyard Shift is now open!
