I'm really feeling it!

While it's not exactly surprising to those of us who've been around the internet for a while, it does give me a chuckle to see the old GIF/JIF pronunciation argument flare up again on Kotaku. Personally, I use the hard-g sound, but I'd never tell someone they're wrong for pronouncing it the other way. English is a weird language.

That being said, I do have a question for anyone on the other side of this issue: is that simply the way you naturally read the word "gif"? Or is it because Steve Wilhit said it was the correct way to pronounce it? Myself I have a hard time looking at the word "gif" and hearing a soft-g sound, but perhaps that's just because I've been pronouncing it that way for so long. We are creatures of habit, after all.

Post some GIFS! Or JIFS, if that's your fancy! ;-) And be sure to head over to Tay Classic for bonus footage, cast interviews and outtakes!
