Rock Skin Pokemon
You know what? The last 3 days working on some badass dudes really drained me. To wrap up the week and illustrate the super adorable Larvitar, I decided to break the cute threshold and bring out a little Godzilla! In pixelated goodness to boot!
It’s Friday, so let’s keep it short and sweet! Tyranitar is based on Godzilla, so from there, I immediately thought about a scene from one of my favorite animated movies, Lilo and Stitch! Stitch goes on a cute rampage in a made up city and I thought to do something similar with a comparable Larvitar.
I created a whole little town for him, with play things and set up his opponent: his favorite stuffed doll...of the Substitute variety which I chose because it sorta loosely looks like him! Also, Nintendo should totally create a Pokemon based around it! I know it’s sorta evolved from the Rhydon symbol sprite from the first gen but still, it could totes be its own thing!
So that’ll do it! The style is a bit messy and I used a pencil tool to “paint” the work out, which gives it the sprite-ly look. I could have definitely made it a lot cleaner but I think having it messy fits the destructive but cute nature of the scene!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Love and peace,
