Killing Me Not-So Softly With His Song.
So pretty much nothing happened for me with gaming this week. I was still recovering from the flu and the accompanying cold. Sleep and catching up on all the missed housework when I was laid out with the flu was the order of business for the week.
I did manage to get a few hours with Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. I changed my character vocation to the Magick Archer and WOW what a difference that made. I feel like I am actually fighting now instead of standing on the sidelines spamming spells. The crazy-large aiming reticule is a bit annoying for the bow, but the change in vocation has me much more interested in playing the game.
Other than that, the only game I played was Saint's Row 4 with my friend on our game night. I am still amazed how the game continues to give me unique mini-games, new weapons and new powers after all the time we've spent with the game.
My favourite weapon has to be the dub-step gun. Finally, battle music that is controlled by me and not by the enemies. I love that the different songs have different firing patterns to suit the player's taste. I personally love the dethmetal song and the machine gun-like firing pattern. Here is a video showing all the new songs in the DLC pack for those that didn't purchase it. Skip to 4:30 to see the dethmetal song.
Other than Beat Hazard, which I can't recommend enough as a twin-stick shooter to play with your own music library, does anyone know of any other games that uses music as your weapon? Saint's Row 4 would be extremely cool if you could plug in your own music to the dup-step gun, but I'd certainly love to see music based weaponry in other games.
I really hope I'll have some time to get to game this weekend.
What are you playing this weekend?
