Another day, another unreleased Japanese game that gets "Shakespeared".

Moving Adventure Psy-O-Bladewas originally released back in 1988 on Japanese personal computers but made the jump to the SEGA Megadrive in 1990. It's a sci-fi adventure / horror hybrid featuring gameplay elements from Snatcher, Phantasy Star and shmup stages akin of Space Harrier in a setting that combines Alien, Event Horizon and even Blade Runner! Sigma Enterprises really mashed he whole thing into this.

This translation is still in beta, so expect some bugs to pop up. Altought everything is fully translated, there are some glitchy text placements that the author tryphon is aware and fixing. In fact, everyone is invited to take the patch and report bugs at Romhacking.net in order to speed up the final release.

Of course as a long year old tradition, I recorded gameplay for you to check out. I got a bit carried away (40+ minutes!? Damn, I must have been really into it!) and even found and reported a bug. Please take a look:

Translator Eien Ni Hen also threw in a few sci-fi references in the dialogue for us to stop, such as a Star Trek quote I found in the computer room. We are probably getting a richer script than it's Japanese original!

There is absolutely no way in those gory bits would make it to stores in the west back in 1990.

That' all for this edition of Now in English. Until next time: Play Loud, Play HARD! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
