Ladies and gentlemen, I have a confession to make: I lust for blood. No, not your blood. Unless you happen to be some sort of demon or crazy cultist in a video game in which case, run. Also, welcome to the Open Forum and your host that is me hopes you’re having a great day.

So yeah, guess it doesn’t take a genius to see I’ve been on a shooter wave. Specifically, the retro kind, because I had the chance to play Dusk at a friend’s house and oh sweet son of the Virgin Mary, that game is so good. It captures the feeling of old-school shooters so perfectly: its fast-paced in every regard, the guns feel amazing and the soundtrack is so metal that I think magnets are glued to my speakers (suck it Strafe). But unfortunately, that little taste of greatness has solidified my decision of only actually buying Dusk when its fully released because next time I sit down to play it, I don’t want to stop until I see the credits rolling.

So until that day, I’ll keep this thirst in check with some old favorites, starting with Unreal Tournament. While I did have contact with the original Unreal (My dad still has the installation CD somewhere) and have many fond memories of it, it was not until they made it a tournament arc that I really got into it, spending hours in lan houses gibbing my friends (and enemies) alike. One moment I never forgot was when I popped someone’s head, only for them to immediately respawn in the exact same place, giving me a double kill with only one target. Glorious.

As for nonvideogame related stuff, I’m binging Kill La Kill! Trigger’s crazy action series about a girl in a ridiculously skimpy outfit in a quest for revenge is actually pretty fun, and I’m glad that said outfit is not the focus (I mean it kinda is but not in that way) and the fights themselves are fantastic! I plan to finish it this week, so no spoilers down there okay?

And without further ado, questions! Have at you!

  • What are your favorite pickups/powerups/upgrades what have you in games?
  • What shows you would not watch in front of your parents?
  • What was your worst experience with public transportation?

Now go and Talk Amongst Yourselves! And if you feel like talking with some other peeps in real time, why not join the TAY Discord server? We have fun and games and don’t bite. Usually.
