Ah, another Thursday another OF and your host (that is me) wishes you all a fantastic day. As for me, well I just enjoyed a prolonged holiday: the Brazilian Carnival from the comfort of my home! Because who needs fancy parades and beer when you can stay home sleeping late for the first time since last year? Now that’s a good time!

Anyway, I’ve been thinking: humans like to play god. We like to be in control, to solve our problems or make things that solve em for us. It’s probably the nature of power itself that just feels so good to have. And what better place to exert that control than video games? And this week I rediscovered a favorite of mine: Maxis’ (may you rest in peace) Sim City series! While I was looking for some very chill soundtracks to use as background noise, I stumbled upon a few let’s plays of SC4 and oh boy that lit a flame. I went to Steam and lucky me, both SC4 and Cities: Skylines were dirty cheap. This time I did much better than my past self with SC 2000. That man was a fool that couldn’t even keep his city clean and always unleashed the wrath of the elements after everything went to shit (The alien invasion one was a personal favorite of mine). So today’s question is:

What are your favorite simulation games?

Moar questions include:

  • What games do you play to relax?
  • Favorite cartoon as a kid?
  • Last album you heard?

Now go and Talk Amongst Yourselves! And if you feel like talking with some other peeps in real time, why not join the TAY Discord server? We have fun and games and don’t bite. Usually.
