And here we go again! Welcome back to the Forum everyone, where timelines come to converge. As ever I’m that guy and I hope you’re all having a fantastic week.

So I almost missed this week’s OF again due to some internet problems. Two days ago a power line exploded near my place and my fiber exploded with it and the ISP took a whole day to fix it, so I figured it was time for more backlogging. After having finished Finding Paradise I needed something that would not make me cry, so I picked a spooky game: Yomawari Night Alone.

I picked this one because it looked as Japanese as one can get: little girl exploring the town way past her bedtime in order to find her sister and dog? If that isn’t a horror setup I don’t know what is. I only played a few hours of it I can say I love how big the map is and how much stuff there is to find. The atmosphere is probably the best part and I’ll admit that the game got me a couple times (especially that moment at the very beginning that I dare not to spoil) but I hate how cheap some deaths are. You won’t lose progress by dying since you keep anything you collected but goddammit there’s no room for error with the damn dogs! There’s exactly one correct answer and the only way to find it is to die a lot. It sucks all the horror outta the experience. Also, I haven’t heard a single song during gameplay but now that I think about it, I did not notice its absence until I got to write this. That’s a testament to how great the atmosphere really is.

What? There’s no music to pick from Yomawari so this will do.

Here’s hoping it continues to entertain me. And now, questions!

  • How’s the week?
  • What’s the most frustrating game you couldn’t stop playing?
  • Are You Afraid Of The Dark?

Now go and Talk Amongst Yourselves! And if you feel like talking with some other peeps in real time, why not join the TAY Discord server? We have fun and games and maids. No, seriously.
