“I fear not the man that practiced a thousand burns once, but the man that practiced a single burn a thousand times.” - Internet Lincon. Probably. Definitely. Can you tell I have no idea where I’m going with this? Good, so welcome back to the Open Forum! As always, I hope you’re all having a great week.
So you probably wondering about all the quoting and stuff. Well, recently my place is undergoing some changes. Nothing major, a bit of paint here, some hole patching there, the works. And this week I was listening to a podcast about the Ship of Theseus thought experiment (Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast. Highly recommend). To make this a very abridged explanation to those who don’t know, this thought experiments basically asks if an object that had all of its components replaced is still the same original object. After realizing that this can be applied to a lot of things in life (like my house, my computer, No Man’s Sky, even me!) the experiment keeps popping back into my mind and it makes me feel really smart and intellectual and stuff. Fascinating stuff really.
And that’s actually all I had going on this week. Huh. Well, I suppose no news is good news, so let’s get those questions going! This time, special, metaphilosophical questions!
- How’s the week?
- What’s your answer to the Ship of Theseus experiment?
- Philosophy! We all studied the basics of it. Do you like the subject? Hate it? Maybe a favorite philosophical game? Tell me.
Now go and Talk Amongst Yourselves! And if you feel like talking with some other peeps in real time, why not join the TAY Discord server? We have fun and games and maid charts. Don’t ask, just accept it.
