DJ SHARPNEL’s brand of otaku J-core is very hit-and-miss for me; depending on the song, it could be either noisy useless clunker or a brilliantly loopy endorphin rush. Given the context, should be no surprise where I think this one right here falls...

DJ SHARPNEL
“TGTMN”

The distorted kicks are toned just right, the amen break is well-utilized, the requisite J-pop/anime samples are well-chosen, the whole song is a propulsive surge in momentum, and most importantly, that main synth melody—it may be mostly a single note being hammered over and over again at high speeds, but it’s stupidly awesome.

“TGTMN” is a shining example of the potential of DJ SHARPNEL’s aesthetic; should be no surprise that it’s one of my favorite tracks from the duo.
