As Kotaku kindly informed us yesterday, Burger King is coming out with a new menu item, the Mac n’ Cheetos, available nationwide starting June 27 (Monday) and hinted that we should expect a Snacktaku review.
Well, if you insist...since they’re available in Southern California now, here’s a sneak peek! Also, apologies to whoever goes to the BK I went to, since supplies are supposed to be limited and I got 2 packs, so I could have 10 total.
They’re slightly bigger than an actual Cheetos Puff, and that’s good because they’re delicious so more is better. The mac & cheese flavor is stronger than the Cheetos, but it’s still good, and possibly because they’ve been deep fried, you don’t end up with Cheetos dust on your fingers, or at least not as much as when eating those now boring ordinary Cheetos.
If you like Cheetos, and mac & cheese, and deep fried mac & cheese balls, then you’ll enjoy these. But if you’re not into junk food, these probably won’t change your mind, so don’t waste the supply, leave it for those of us who’ll like them. It’s $2.49 for a box, which contains 5, so for just under $5 you can get 10.
And since I try not to get fast food too often, when I do go, I go all in. So here’s a couple other items I tried out.
Have you ever thought to yourself, “I like those chicken fries, but I wish they were shaped like onion rings instead?” Then I’ve got great news for you, they now have chicken fries rings (yes, they left the fries part in there).
They’re more nugget shaped than the fries, but they’re all delicious breaded chicken so it all tastes the same anyway. And by “the same” I mean good. Like the chicken fries, you also get the dipping sauce holder in the box.
And they also have a
new been there the whole time but I never noticed until now value menu item called the Rodeo Burger, for a dollar (thanks to abracadaniel for the correction on that). It’s a burger topped with onion rings. That’s right, no more buying them separately and adding the rings to the burger yourself like a chump!
They also have a chicken sandwich version of that. But if you still want to assemble something yourself, may I suggest adding the chicken fries rings onto a burger?
