In honor of National Cheeseburger Day, I took a slight detour on the way home from work to stop at Jack in the Box and get an Ultimate Cheeseburger, because I figured why not celebrate the day of the food with its ultimate form.

A couple months back, Jack introduced two new versions (and warned that they could blow people's minds).

So I thought I'd try out one of these new versions, but how to choose between Jalapeno Ranch and BBQ?

Thanks little girl from the taco shell commercial, that's a great idea, and exactly what I ended up going with.

Remember that picture up top? Yeah, that's not what they look like in real life.

But they're still pretty good. First is the Jalapeno Ranch. Not too spicy, the ranch seems to balance it out, but there's also only a few jalapeno slices to begin with. There's just a little bit of a kick but if you can handle the mild-medium range you'll be fine with this.

The BBQ also has grilled onions and has a much sweeter taste. It also seemed to get more sauce than the ranch version.

If you like Jack in the Box, and their regular ultimate cheeseburger, then you'll probably like these too. If you aren't able to eat more than one (or don't want to pay for more than one, which is understandable since they're $4.29 a piece and this "snack" cost me nearly $10), I'd say the BBQ one slightly edges out the jalapeno ranch in flavor, and will probably cost you less the next morning too. But if you've always thought "this ultimate cheeseburger is good but could use some spice" then obviously go with the jalapeno ranch. If you don't like Jack in the Box, this probably won't change your mind which, incidentally, is wrong.
