I got some great track suggestions for the reboot edition of SoML, and I wanted to keep this gravy train rolling as long as it would go. Let’s jump into a quick refresher on the rules, and then we can move on to this week’s theme!
Each time that I write a post for this segment, I will reach out and ask for your help in gathering a collection of tracks from video games that fulfill the needs of my playlist. In every post, I will get things started by giving you the following:
- The playlist name and theme
- The total length of time of needed for the playlist
- One to three tracks I have chosen that will go on the playlist, along with my justification for those tracks.
If you want to help me build out the playlist, then please provide the following:
- A video game track of your choosing that fits the theme for that week’s playlist, preferably instrumental, but if it has lyrics in it, that’s okay too.
- A link to YouTube, SoundCloud, or another outlet where I can listen to the track.
- The reason you think that it would be a solid addition to that playlist, and why you think it matches the theme perfectly.
You are welcome to submit more than one track, and once I get enough submissions, I will go through them, pick the ones that I feel best exemplify the theme, and start composing the playlist. Once I have finalized it, I will present it in the next post, along with the album title and artwork.
If you would like, help me design the album artwork and give the album a name!
The title can be as abstract or concrete as you would like, but just see if you can tie it to the theme, and if you find images that inspire you for album art, feel free to submit them as well (I can do some Photoshoping to either modify them or make a new cover based off of them). Additionally, if you are handy with Illustrator or Photoshop, feel free to take a stab at this as well. My goal here is to eventually have it where we as a community are creating artwork, album titles, and playlists together.
Easy enough, right? So, without further ado, let’s dive in head first, and make us a playlist!
Playlist Theme: Inspiration
Playlist Runtime: 30 minutes - 1 hour
Now that we have built a playlist geared towards exploration, which I mentioned was to help me during extensive R&D periods at my job, this week’s playlist seemed like the next logical step: Inspiration. After you’ve explored - whether it is a physical, a digital, or a knowledge-based space - there’s really no better feeling than to return, brain bursting with ideas (and sometimes fatigue), and allow the inspiration from the experience to fuel your creativity.
I am hopeful that I can use this playlist as a way of inspiring me... professionally, personally, creatively, or just anytime I just need to feel that inspirational boost.
- Reunited - Undertale
- The Moon - Ducktales Remastered
- Victory - Overwatch
As always, I look forward to collaborating with you so that we can build an amazing playlist together.
