… Ark water… Pirates of dark water… Pirates of dark water.
Did you know that after shutting Lucasarts down, Disney set up something called Lucasfilm games to provide support for live and upcoming games? Live and upcoming games, so we’re talking Battlefront 2 and Jedi Fallen Order. Sometimes I feel like they’re just pissing in the wind. Maybe they don’t even know why they shut LucasArts down. I don’t think anyone’ll hld it against them if they just say: “You know what? We made a mistake. We should at least consider the old Lucasarts business model.”
They certainly won’t be providing any support for this fan project remaking the first level of Star Wars: Dark Forces in unreal engine 4. In fact, I don’t know if I should even be talking about this. Too much attention and next thing you know Disney’s like: “you smell that?” So just let it happen.
Two games I’ve been looking forward to have announced exclusivity deals this past week for the Epic Game’s Store AKA “E.G.S”. Phoenix Point and The Outer Worlds. Needless to say the reception was not exactly positive. Yes, the user features on EGS is paltry compared to Steam, and they’re bulldozing their way into being a legitimate competitor. But from a developer and publisher point of view, EGS is driving a hard bargain. Spyware-like practices notwithstanding. But don’t worry, Epic boss, Tim Sweeny says that they will stop buying up exclusives… eventually. He also said that EGS won’t sell any porn games or bloatware like steam. I’m sure that gives him a very nice feeling of superiority.
A little while ago, Chris Avellone said he finished work on Jedi Fallen Order and that there was another announcement coming. Ladies and gentlemen, the rumor were true. The legacy of Troika Games has not been forgotten. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is coming, and it’s being written by the greatest writer the video game industry has. I have to say that him leaving Obsidian Entertainment and going freelance is probably the greatest blessing in disguise the gaming industry has ever had. I was gearing up to start making videos on the first game. This would be the best time. But unfortunately I can’t.
I’m gonna have to take some serious time off from my YouTube channel to focus on earning my degree. The future is looking very grim, especially for European people aspiring to be online creators. “Party’s over, back to the salt mines, slave.” But that’s a discussion for another time. I was denied partnership on YouTube again, and I am officially out of ideas. They refuse to give information specific enough for me to correct whatever it is I may be doing wrong. They gave me “Reused Content” again as a reason, along with 5 excessively vague bulletpoints. I can play definition tiddlywinks with them all day. I really thought I had it this time. I guess that’s what I get for having any amount of confidence in myself.
Papito Qinn is into the whole YouTube thing, is the winner of the 2016 SpookTAYcular Scary Story Contest, and a twitter incompetent. “My hopes and dreams, yet again dashed to the ground and trampled on by a sea of geriatric ignorance, incompetence, and low capacity. In other words: Tuesday.”
