If you're into games for as long as me, Probe Software will certainly ring a few bells. A young, brave Tim Wright threw them a demo tape back in 1989. The reply was this:

Things were looking up for Tim! He quickly cooked up an Amiga disk with the appropriated mod file format files and shipped them off to Probe. A few weeks later, the mail came with another reply:

Shock, defeat, anger, anguish! But critical approval and some hope for the future... this was the life of a video game composer 25 years ago, a profession that held as much opportunities as risks, a pioneering effort on what would later as technology continued to evolve became one of the more important aspects of video games: the soundtrack.

Don't feel sad for Tim (soon to be reborn as CoLD SToRAGE), he made it all-right and even managed to inspire a few thousands fans into electronic music production... make sure you drop this photo album a look for many more pieces of the past.
