Happy Long Weekend TAY, If You've Got One.
Even though I'm not religious, I'll certainly take the 4 day long weekend we have around here. I hope many of you have some extra time off as well.
Last week was Twitch, Twitch, and more Twitch. So many variables to work out. It has definitely been a great learning experience, but it is certainly more work than I would have thought.
I bought an Elgato HD60 which will allow me to capture signal from HDMI devices, so this will let me capture content from all the newer consoles except the PS3. I was sad to learn that the HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) on the PS3 prevents capturing the signal. Microsoft and Nintendo have no such protection on their consoles and Sony saw the wisdom in dropping this requirement from the PS4, but the poor ol' PS3 never had the HDCP removed from the game signal. Some additional hardware should allow me to circumvent that and I still need some hardware to allow capturing of older non-HDMI consoles, so I'm slowly compiling a shopping list for Monoprice that I'll grab at a later date.
I tested out the Elgato HD60 by Twitching some Kameo and it seems to work very well. I had forgotten how much I liked Kameo. I might have to go back and play it from the beginning again. It has been a long time since I've looked at it, but it holds up extremely well and still looks stunning.
A week of Twitch meant a week of The Elder Scrolls Online. We have just arrived at the last area of the Ebonheart Pact's domain. I'm happy to leave the snow of the last area behind, it was a little much after the long winter around here in real life.
I've noticed sales are way up in the guild stores, so hopefully that means that tons of people have returned to The Elder Scrolls Online or have joined since the subscriptions were dropped. I haven't noticed a lot more people, but I suppose I'm questing in endgame areas, so there will be less people there anyhow. Plus, the Megaserver does a nice job of keeping the crowds small by controlling who you see in your "instance" of the world.
I've just hit veteran level 12, so only two more veteran levels before I hit the cap. I hope I'll be able to get to veteran level 14 before they do away with the veteran levels altogether. Not that it will mean anything to be veteran level 14 once they axe the system. However, since I've been playing for almost a year and I've seen V14 as the pinnacle of advancement, it really feels like I need to make it there and see that number 14 on my character.
This weekend will be pretty busy but hopefully I'll have some time for some of The Elder Scrolls Online and maybe some matches of Titanfall.
I'll be absent over the next couple weekends but you'll be in good hands with E1 Salvador (and maybe Spacegar, I'm not sure what the two of them have discussed - regardless, thanks guys for covering for me). Have an awesome couple of weeks everyone and I'll see you when I am back.
So, what are you playing this weekend?
