Yesterday was apparently Walt Disney's birthday. I didn't know that until Facebook told me this morning. Well, something I follow on Facebook did...Nerdist? Fashionably Geek? Well, anyway it was. That got me thinking about all the Disney movie memories I have.
The best was not that little ball of fluff in my header gif, but I'll talk about him first. I adore Meeko. He was the first one of the "sidekick animal/robot/things" that I really loved. In fact, in high school I learned to draw him and proceeded to put him everywhere. My chemistry teacher started to hate when I would put him on the dry erase board. But she was a horrible person, so I would do it out of spite.
My favorite memories are ones I share with my family. When my sister and I were little, my father would work 6 or 7 day work weeks to make sure we had everything we wanted (and to pay for my mother's horrible "I have to shop every week" habits). Once a month, he would take my sister and I out to a "date night." It was usually during the daytime, but we got to choose whatever we wanted to do. That usually involved going to a movie or eating out or both. One of the first memories of going out was to see a little Disney movie called Oliver and Company. Now, no one seems to remember this movie, but I do. My father and sister and I went to this theater that shows movies that are really out of most other theaters. On that Saturday morning, it was only the three of us and we had the best time. We were running around and dancing with the songs, my father included.
My other favorite Disney memory like that is a cheat. It's watching the MMC with my sister when we were older. I know it was a TV show, but it made movie stars, so I'm counting it! :)
Here's the ending song to get you through the weekend.
I forgot how many people were on that show. And how corny it was...oh wait, there's Matt Morris! What was I talking about?
Anyway, I've rambled long enough. What are some of your favorite Disney memories? (You can totally cheat and use TV shows or park visits or anything Disney!)
If you don't want to talk about this, feel free to talk about anything!
And Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have good weekends!
