Hello everyone, and welcome to the Open Forum, which is hosted by Kotaku's reader-run blog, TAY. This is a place to talk about life, video games, or anything else, so feel free to hop in and join in the topic discussion, or comment about anything. Then, when you're done, feel free to peruse the articles on TAY and TAYClassic. Is this your first time on TAY or the Open Forum? Then check out this handy TAYTorial! Also, don't forget the new IRC Chatroom.

I love the smell of gaming in the spring.

I have to be honest, this is one of my favorite times of year. I go into cosplay crazy mode. That's where I realize that Otakon is 3 months away and I have 2 1/2 costumes to make. (Plus one I thought up the other day. I'm a glutton for punishment.) I start sleeping less and obsessing over everything to get done. But also this is a great time for gaming. Announcements, and E3, and the fallout from E3.

Take the Smash Bros. news this week. Both versions look amazing and this might be the game I have to buy a Wii U for. And I'm looking forward to playing it with all you TAYers too. It'll be the first time I've played a Smash game with friends since college.

And then there was this other little announcement...

(You didn't think I would skip this, did you?)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO HYPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New playable characters, but not new characters. So smart on Gearbox's part. And I'm definitely being the Sheriff on my first playthrough. I always wanted to know more about her. Although, I'm tempted to be Claptrap too. I love that little guy.

So what are you excited for this spring? Spring's half over? Well, mother nature screwed that up for me, so what are you excited about in gaming in general? (Who's getting Borderlands The Pre-Sequel on launchday!!!!!????)

And if you don't want to talk about any of this, feel free to talk about anything!

And Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have great weekends!

Oh, and before I forget, next week I'll be mostly M.I.A. Don't worry about me. I'll just be internet deprived at the farm. :D
