Space: The Final Frontier.
I've always been absolutely amazed and inspired by space. About what's out there, what we've been able to accomplish, what we'll eventually accomplish some time in the future.
Although I grew up too late to experience man on the moon, humans have still come a long way. We have a continuous presence in space thanks to the International Space Station, the Voyager 1 space probe has left our heliosphere and entered interstellar space (first man-made object to do so), and there's a growing industry back here on Earth for space travel (Virgin Galactic and SpaceX being the heavy-hitters). Today we plan to land the Philea lander on a comet! How impressive is that?
I also saw Interstellar last night, and it is quite possibly the best movie I've ever seen. The hope for the future, and exploring worlds we've never been able to experience before, make for a powerful movie.
I hope that I get to see a manned mission to Mars in my lifetime.
My question is: What do you think human-kind's greatest, or inspiring, accomplishments have been in recent history?
If you don't want to talk about this, then feel free to talk about anything else!
