Welcome to the Open Forum, where a kid can be a kid, and adults can act like children because forget you! Who are you to judge us?
Honestly, I don't have much today. The TAY front page has been pretty active, and I'm very excited about that. I've also been enjoying all of your "Why I love TAY" posts. I know that I appreciate seeing that (as I'm sure GBD and Odin do as well) because we put a lot of work in bringing TAY back from the ashes. We couldn't do it without all of your help, and I really do want to take the time to thank you all.
Maybe if I'm not feeling lazy, I might make a legit post about it; however, I'm not one for writing much anymore. Being an English major kind of killed that for me.
Ooh! There's a topic! What do/did you want to be when you grow/grew up? Are you on track to make it there? Are you already there, or did you feel the opportunity passed you by.
Sadly, I feel mine passed me by. I always wanted to work in the games industry. First, I wanted to make games, but my coding was only good up to a point. Then, I hit a wall and could never get past it. After that, I thought about games journalism (hence the English major). I went to maybe three journalism classes before I dropped it. There was no way I'd have been able to handle that workload AND do my other classes. So, I majored in English and double-minored in Psychology and CIS. I tried going into Social Service, but that didn't work out either. That was not a fun job...
Now, I'm stuck in a 9-5 type job. It's not a bad job. I enjoy the people I work with, and the job isn't bad in and of itself, but it's not something I'm passionate about. Still, it's not super demanding, I make decent enough money, and I get enough time to spend with my wife AND play video games, so I can't complain too much (although I wouldn't mind more money). So, how about all of you?
Thanks to Mr Marsu for the image! If you'd like to enter the contest, please submit all your entries to this link for a chance to be the featured image for the Open Forum. We're always looking for new header images.
Also, don't forget that the Kickstarter for our very own Habboi's A Hat in Time is still going strong. If you haven't already contributed, I strongly urge you to do so! The game looks amazing, and we want to make sure he has so much work to do that he can't post here anymore!
Keep the conversation going over at TAYCLASSIC, where you can escape from the daily grind or gush about how much you love what you're doing! Or, you know, post about whatever. I'm not the boss of you. I'm not the boss of anybody...
