Meow Tay!

I think I have mentioned here before that I’m rather fond of documentaries. And this weekend I saw the movie “Kedi”. Which I still haven’t yet been able to let go of.

The documentary is about cats in Istanbul. A city full of street cats that often survive on peoples generosity. It’s common that rather than owning a cat some people help the ones on the street who comes and goes as they please. But within that subject the documentary manage to discuss so many subjects about people and life. It’s one of the most optimistic pieces of media that I’ve seen for several of years. I really recommend giving it a watch. If I had the chance to show a movie to a person who has a lot prejudices towards other nations. This would probably be the movie I would show. So seriously, if you have the chance, give it a watch!

The movie also did kinda of give me a little urge to own a cat. That doesn’t mean I’m going to get one. I would never get a pet if I think it wouldn’t live well in my apartment, which is the case with my current lifestyle. But I can enjoy the thought of having one. I’m more used to dogs since they were more common when I grew up. But I think I would personally enjoy having a cat more because of how different they are socially towards you. My dad used to have a cat when I was very young. Who was a true hunter and could come home with various animals as meals. He also enjoyed climbing on roofs of different houses. And it was just something calming about his presence around you. He was social but could take care of himself. RIP buddy!

So yeah, here are some suggested topics to talk about today:

  • What’s your experience with cats?
  • Watched any good documentaries lately? Do you enjoy watching them in general?
  • If you were transformed into a house pet, would it be dog, cat or something else? No simple answers! Give reasoning why.
  • Or talk about anything!
