You’re probably wondering why another picture of a bird given last week’s forum. We’ll get there.
It’s the day before Thanksgiving, and I’m probably preparing things for the feast tomorrow (or watching The Exorcist tv series). I’m writing this in the past you see, so I’m taking a stab at predicting my future. And possibly stabbing an unfortunate sweet potato to feed the masses. Such is life.
In the event you’re here, counting the hours until work is over and need some entertainment until then, let me tell you a story.
Roosters are evil.
One year when I visited Trinidad, I got into a fight with one of its kind. Every morning it would crow at ungodly hours, disrupting my already sensitive sleeping patterns. Three mornings into its erratic routine, I spotted the villain hiding in the bushes across the street. We gave each other the evil eye. It was a glaring contest of epic proportions.
I won when a car drove by and he was forced to jump into the drain, ending his eye to eye tyranny.
Did he crow the day after? I wouldn’t know. If I recall correctly, it just so happened to be my last day there. I’d like to think I won but roosters are vicious, and they have no regard for human decency.
So, in lieu of a turkey this year...consider pardoning it and snuffing a rooster instead.
For today’s suggested topic(s):
- Tell us about all the evil or good animals in your life.
- What animal(s) are you afraid of/admire from afar?
- Cats or dogs?
- If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?
- Got any stories to share this day before Thanksgiving, please do so. If you’re traveling or whatever it is you’re doing, have a safe and happy one.
