Good morning meatballs!
I’ve been thinking of “Night In the Woods” again recently. I think that game made more of an impact on me than I first realize.
One of the subjects in “Night in the woods”, was our relationship to our hometown. The main character comes back to it after not be able to be anywhere else, while her friends are just longing to get away from there. That’s something I think we can all relate to. I myself moved far away from my small hometown “Lysekil” almost 10 years ago now. Here is a photo of it:
Damn it looks so nice on photos.
I always wanted to move away from there. Despite being my home for most of my life I didn’t really admit it being my home. We moved to it when I was young and my memory of another place we lived in seemed better. Also my parents are divorced, and the city my dad was living in seemed cooler all the time. And unlike the main character in Night in the woods, I don’t really have any friends I miss from that period. I can only think of two people outside my family that I still stay in contact with. I don’t think I would ever be happy staying there, the thing about those places are that they will remember you for who you were and the things you said and did as a kid forever
Although I can still miss the sense of community living in a small town that you grew up in. Just people you recognize on the street and greet. That just doesn’t happen in a big town where we all are mindless ants.
So yeah, here list of suggested topics to talk about today:
- What is your relationship with your hometown? Do you live there still, or did you move out? Do you hate it or miss it?
- What is the place that feels the most like home for you right now?
- Or talk about anything!
