Yesterday I received a package in the mail. I had pre-ordered it and forgot all about it, which is the bad thing I’ve taken to doing when it comes to ordering games.

Inside the envelope was a copy of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. It’s a game I already own for the original DS but never got around to playing it. I ordered the redux because it was on the cheap, and I had every intention of playing.

Seriously, I don’t know if I’ll actually pick it up any time soon.

Of course, this got me to thinking about Friday’s release of Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition. I don’t have it ordered (but I should check in case I did and forgot). I was one of the..*few*.. people who owned a Wii U and actually got this game when it originally released. But now the Switch is so shiny and convenient that all these games from a failed console generation are getting their well-deserved recognition. Same with Captain Toad. Do I need to buy Captain Toad again? No, probably not. Am I considering it? Yes. I definitely am.

I don’t need to buy any of these games again, and quite frankly I’m kinda burnt out on games at the moment. I’m taking my time with God of War (in that I’m hardly playing). I want to play my 3DS for whatever it is I was playing... but I have just not been in the mood.

I think I’m just bidding my time until Dragon Quest XI.

But you very well know that I’ll keep falling into this vicious cycle of buying multiple copies of games I have no business owning. It’s a real problem.

For Today’s Suggested Topic(s). Answers to one all, none, or some will do:

  • Which game do you love so much that you’d buy it as a remaster, or on a different platform should it get one?
  • Are there any games you have more than one copy of?
  • Waluigi, Luigi, Wario, or Toad: who would win at Mario Aces Tennis. And why is it always Luigi?

I’ve listened to 4 out of 12 songs on this album. I am undecided where I stand.
