Greetings Tay!

So I’ve been five days in Japan, just got out of the Onsen to write this. It’s been a great day visiting Hakone. With some nice walks around the forest and visiting shrines and active volcanos. I can easily say this has been the best day so far.

Solo traveling has otherwise have had its ups and downs. It’s great when everything works, and boring as hell when things goes wrong. The first two days in Tokyo I really enjoyed it, the other two days less so. Partly because it started to rain and blow cold wins so exploring the town wasn’t that fun. I also started to feel the time difference and got really tired during the afternoons. And it stressed me out when I was too tired to go out and do stuff.

You could say it’s been a bit of a learning curve traveling alone. I feel like I’ve been enjoying it more when I try less. I go about things rather slow and just do what I feel at the moment. If that means laying in the bed at a hotel for a while, then so be it. I got plently of time to explore the city when I feel like it. I also stopped taking the camera with me. I borrowed a Gopro for this vacation because I was thinking I could film things and edit it to something fun later. But that honestly just stressed me out. Never enjoyed taking photos, and now I tried to take moving footage, and talk in front of the camera. That just felt awkward. Also trying to record as much as possible felt like work. So I stopped.

Overall though even if it sounds like I complain a lot, I feel blessed that I get to be in position that allows me to travel like this. And the truth is that I always get a little anxious when I travel. Sometimes I need to get home before I realize how amazing things was. Then I wanna go back.

But... where was I? Oh yeah, Hakone is awesome! You should go and visit it!

Anyway, here are some suggested topics for today:

  • Where do you wanna travel? Who would you bring with you? Would you go alone if you could?
  • Do you prefer shower or bath?
  • Or talk about anything.
