Hey howdy hey TAY folks!
July has been jam packed with two of my favorite “gaming holidays” of the year - Summer Games Done Quick and EVO. And as I watch talented folks speed run games I love and virtually punch each other in the face I always think I could do that! I could practice hard and become one of the best players in the world! Next year people will be watching me and I’ll be the one inspiring them.
Then I attempt to beat Super Mario 64 in three hours and it ends up taking me that long to just get the first 20 stars. Or I go online in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and get demolished by what I believe to be a 14 year-old.
The pros make it look so easy. I can never get over how well they manage to understand a game, in ways I probably never will. Currently I’m trying really hard (and still failing) to do well in Overwatch’s competitive mode. One of these days I’ll make the big time...
For today’s suggested topic(s):
- What game(s) do you wish you were better at?
- What games are you pretty darn good at?
- What are your gaming dreams?
- If a tree falls in the forest and crushes a mime, does anyone care?
To inspire you as you respond, here’s a terrible video of the classic hit “You’re the Best Around” from The Karate Kid movies.
Please do not karate chop your computer screen or kick through your bedroom wall in excitement.
