I'm really feeling it!
I'm really feeling it!

Based on feedback from the sTAYte of the CommuniTAY Town Hall meeting we had last week, we would like to make some announcements about some new things going on in TAY. I'll try to break it out into sections so you can just read what pertains to you if you prefer.

  • Starting now, we are going to implement the "SPEAKUP" tag on articles. If you write an article on TAY or TAYCLASSIC that you wouldn't mind having featured on the main Kotaku page, please use this tag on your article. PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT the same as the TAYCLASSIC tag. This is NOT for general status updates or short little blurbs. This is to be reserved for full fledged articles to be featured on the main site. We have no way to police this tag, so we're expecting you to honor the intent of it and ONLY use it for articles.
  • Starting next week on Monday, we will no longer be cross-posting the Open Forum and Graveyard Shift to TAYCLASSIC. We will only be referencing them in the intro blurb. We will implement this for 2-4 weeks and see if it improves traffic to TAYCLASSIC. Any other suggestions for improving visibility to TAYCLASSIC would be appreciated. Feel free to leave comments below.

  • In order to have a chance (please note that this is not a guarantee) to get the Open Forum and Graveyard Shift featured on the front page, if you are responsible for the either of these, please use a blurb like the following as the opening of the OF or GS before going into your fun, little blurbs:

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Open Forum, which is hosted by Kotaku's reader-run blog, TAY. This is a place to talk about life, video games, or anything else you want, so feel free to hop in and join in the topic discussion, or anything else you want. Then, when you're done, feel free to peruse the articles on TAY and TAYCLASSIC. Is this your first time on TAY or the Open Forum? Then check out this handy TAYtorial!

Also for the OF and GS, please try to round up at least 2 or 3 articles from earlier in they day or the night before. Stephen has expressed that he wants these to be included in the OF and GS before he considers sharing them.

If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below and I will try to address them.

Admins: If I'm missing anything, please feel free to update this blurb and bump it to the top of TAY.
