It’s almost universally accepted that Video Game movies are probably not going to be great. That’s not to say they’ve been universally terrible, the first RE held some promise (until it seemed to go completely off the rails from what little I know of the series past then), Silent Hill felt very faithful to the spirit of the games, even if they had made a lot of changes I wish they hadn’t, and Prince of Persia was a fun hollywood actionized distillation of the Sands of Time trilogy.

And so we come to the present, specifically this Friday when the FFXV Kingsglaive comes out at select locations around the US. I find myself lucky to be “near” a location. I say “near” but in reality its about an hour away, which I don’t consider near at all. So the question I ask myself is...Do I go? I don’t know. On one hand, holy hell do I really want to drive an hour? on the other its an Alamo Drafthouse, which I’ve heard good things about. Either way I should probably decide quickly.

Today’s Question: How far have you been wiling to go (distance or otherwise) for a limited release/special event?
