Well this weekend was interesting, in addition to moving (one building over in our apartment complex) my car (2013 ford fiesta) decided to die. Seemed like just the battery but after jumping it the check engine and powertrain malfunction error lights came. Took it to auto shop to have the error codes checked and it showed up as an error with the ECU (main car computer I guess), “Ruh Roh Raggy” time. Took it to dealer (who said it was covered under my remaining warrenty thank god).
Long story short: It was a false positive from the battery going bad. So good news is it was easily fixable and is ready to go. Bad news is I just missed out on it being a free replacement under the 3 year 36k mile warrenty (i’m at 38k). So now I get to go pick it up and at least be happy that the above picture is not an accurate representation of my car.
TAY Question of the day: Is your car currently on fire? If not talk about any other current mechanical glitches or whatever is currently floating your boat below.
Bonus fact: apparently in the course of going to get jumper cables for my car, we missed an actual car fire the next building over. fun times.
